Gonzalo a commencé à joué en professionnel à 16 ans à Buenos Aires. A 17 ans, il présentait son propre trio de blues sur la télé nationale argentine. Il s'installe en 2000 aux Etats-Unis où il joue et enregistre avec des centaines d'artistes dont Tim Hausser (Manhattan Transfer), Sylvie Vartan, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, John Jorgenson, Howard Alden et beaucoup d'autres.
En 2007, son CD Porteña Soledad est unanimement apprécié par la critique spécialisée et son groupe est promu Best Jazz Group in Los Angeles par le L.A. Magazine dans son édition Best Of L.A.

La musique du Gonzalo Bergara Quartet est fortement influencée par Django Reinhardt et le Hot Club de France, par le jazz traditionnel ainsi que par la musique argentine.
Gonzalo s'est produit un peu partout dans le monde : Croatie, France, Allemagne, Italie, Angleterre, Ecosse, Argentine, Brésil. Il a participé au Montreal Jazz Festival, au Playboy Jazz Festival, au Sweet and Hot Jazz Festival, au Django Reinhardt Fest (Allemagne), Suave Guitar Fest (Italie), Merle Fest, Strawberry Fest, Django Fests aux Etats-Unis, Samois sur Seine et beaucoup d'autres. Il publie en 2009 son premier DVD enregistré live au Throckmorton Theatre (Californie) et est également l'auteur d'une méthode de guitare manouche.




Gonzalo started playing professional at the age of 16 in Buenos Aires. At 17, he presented his own trio of blues on Argentine national TV. In 2000 he moved to the United States where he played and recorded with hundreds of artists including Tim Hausser (Manhattan Transfer), Sylvie Vartan, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, John Jorgenson, Howard Alden and many others.
In 2007, his CD Porteña Soledad was unanimously appreciated by specialized critics and his group was promoted Best Jazz Group in Los Angeles by the L.A. Magazine in its Best Of L.A. edition.

The music of the Gonzalo Bergara Quartet is strongly influenced by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, by traditional jazz as well as by Argentinian music.
Gonzalo has performed all over the world: Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, England, Scotland, Argentina, Brazil. In 2009 he published his first DVD recorded live at the Throckmorton Theater (California) and was also the author of a gypsy guitar method.
