Gary Potter

Gary Potter is an incredible and terribly endearing guitarist. Originally from Liverpool, he learned on his own, in his bedroom. Who does not remember the nice sequences of Django Legacy where we see him in this little room of teenager recounting with emotion his guitar training and solitary ... under a portrait of Django! Nobody forgot about his knife-cut Cookney accent, striped wallpaper and the Liverpool worker full of guiness pubs, either. A real Ken Loach movie!
First a country guitarist, he discovered Django and opened up to the world of jazz. Gifted with an incredible technique that allows him to play with both fingers and pick, his style today embraces jazz, country, blues, classical, pop, rock ... and of course, music to Django!

The good ol 'boy and the country:
Gary Potter learned the guitar on his own, which he started at the age of 11. A year later, he performed as a semi-professional in local country groups. Three times, he will be voted best country guitarist in England ...

And then there was Django:
At 15, a friend gave him a Django record. He is conquered by this music and decides to play only that. He left school and imposed ten hours of practice per day. His reputation as a good guitarist grew in Liverpool, maintained by his many gigs at the Atlantic Pub.
During a Biréli Lagrène concert in London, he meets Ian Cruickshank who introduces him to Alsatian gypsy. A generous jam will follow, during which Biréli is apparently very impressed by the guitaristic talents of the young Englishman.
